A Budgewoi retiree says he’ll be spending the rest of the week happily contemplating how he’ll enjoy his $781,000 Lotto Strike division one prize.

The Central Coast resident held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Lotto Strike draw 4841 on Saturday 22 July 2020, taking home $781,451.80.

Confirming his win with us this morning, the thrilled winner recounted how he discovered the life-changing news.

“Thank you very much,” he said.

“I checked my ticket this morning when I was having a cup of coffee.

“I knew that I had to get straight down to the newsagency to make sure it was true.

“When I got here, they confirmed the news straight away!

“I’ve been playing Lotto Strike for about 20 years now. It’s terrific!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his Lotto Strike fortune, the man said he’d need some time to think.

“I don’t know yet, it’s all a bit overwhelming,” he said.

“I am retired, so I know I will have plenty of time to enjoy this prize and it might change a few of my retirement plans.

“I certainly have some thinking to do!”

The thrilled player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at Budgewoi Newsagency, 77 Scenic Drive, Budgewoi.

Budgewoi Newsagency owner Jan Hewes said the outlet had been on a winning streak.

“We sold a top prize winning Lucky Lotteries entry just a couple of months ago,” she said.

“And another division one winning ticket not long before that.

“It’s so good to see these huge prizes go to locals who support us week in, week out.

“Congratulations to them!”
