A Chatswood man has admitted to wandering the streets of Chatswood in a daze after his trip to get the morning newspaper revealed his $2.6 million Saturday Lotto win.

The Sydney resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4389, drawn Saturday 12 August 2023 and took home $2,688,246.93.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this before, it’s mind-blowing!” the winning man exclaimed when we called to confirm his incredible win.

“It still hasn’t hit me!

“It was meant to be a normal Sunday! I ran down to get the paper yesterday morning and decided to check my entry while I was there.

“I’m not really sure what happened next if I’m honest.

“I realised I’d won something big, so I checked the numbers again and then just wandered the streets.

“I was so shocked!”

The elated winner said the win would change his life immediately and in many ways, but confessed he wasn’t sure which changes to make first.

“Obviously it’s amazing but I need more time to wrap my head around this,” he laughed.

“It’s going to potentially set me up for an earlier retirement, but I could also just cut back and work part-time if I wanted to.

“I’ll also look into buying a unit for myself and investing for the future.

“I’m most excited about the fact that I can travel wherever and whenever I feel like now!

“I already had a trip booked overseas for the end of the year and I’m going to extend that for a few more months now.

“I’m so excited for what the future holds!”

The winning ticket was purchased at Chatswood Interchange Newsagency, Shop 31A Chatswood Interchange, 432 Victoria Road, Chatswood.

Chatswood Interchange Newsagency owner Ms Louise Geng said the team were over the moon for their winning customer and wished them all the best for the future.
