A Chirnside man has welcomed 2022 with high spirits after discovering he won more than $2.3 million in TattsLotto’s New Year’s Eve Megadraw.

The Melbourne resident held one of the 17 division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4221 on Friday 31 December 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $2,352,941.18.

“Yay! This is just fantastic!” the winning man cheered as the exciting news was confirmed.

“I am absolutely blown away.

“This morning I had ducked into the newsagency to check my ticket and after the team member scanned my ticket, he walked around the counter and gave me a hug and said, ‘Congratulations!’

“I said, ‘What for?’ and then he told me I'm a multi-millionaire! It’s a moment I’ll never forget.

“I was struggling to believe it’s true, but now I’m speaking to you, it’s starting to sink in.

“I feel all numb still. This is a dream come true!

“It’s wonderful. I’m sitting here with my entire family now and we’re all very emotional. Thank you!

“I don’t want to make any concrete plans with my prize until the dust settles.

“But I’m sure I’ll do the usual things - pay off the mortgage, help my family, that kind of thing.

“My wife will want to do a bit of travelling and things like that. “Being a multi-millionaire will make life a lot more exciting!”

The winning entry was purchased at Chirnside Lotto Agency, Shop 643 Chirnside Park Shopping Centre, Maroondah Highway, Chirnside Park.

Chirnside Lotto Agency owner Martin Baillache said he was over-the-moon for his division one winner.

“How lucky for our winner! We’d love to crack a bottle of champagne with them to celebrate.” he said.

“We’ve been sharing the great news with our customers, and they’re so excited for our division one winner.

“We’ve sold 38 division one wins at this outlet. Our last division one win was in May last year, so we’re very excited to have another.

“Congratulations to our customer on their life-changing win. We are so blessed to have so many loyal customers and we are glad to see one of them rewarded with a division one win in this draw.”
