Lockdown FaceTime party to celebrate Kilmore family’s $797,000 TattsLotto win!
A Kilmore family didn’t let lockdown ruin their TattsLotto win celebrations, instead staging a FaceTime party to mark their windfall of almost $800,000.
The Victorians held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4181, drawn Saturday 14 August 2021. Each division one winning entry took home a $797,532.27 prize.
When we called the winning group this morning, they admitted they were patiently waiting by the phone to hear their winning news confirmed.
“I looked at the winning numbers in the paper yesterday, and that’s when I found out,” the family patriarch said.
“We hadn’t won much on our last few tickets, so it was a bit of a shock when I realised we’d won division one.
“I thought, ‘well this is going better than expected’.
“I told my wife straight away. We were trying to keep pretty calm about it, but we let out a few loud cheers.
“We actually buy this ticket with our daughter each week, so the three of us are in this. We called her on FaceTime yesterday and broke the news to her.
“She was screaming so loud when she found out! She was at her house, but she was so loud that you would’ve thought she was standing in the same room as us.
“It was great! “We all popped a bottle of champagne and had a bit of a phone party to celebrate.
“My wife actually had a dream not long ago that something like this would happen, and it’s so crazy now that it has. It feels like it was meant to be.
“We’ve had a pretty tough time recently, so this really couldn’t have come at a better time.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their prize, one of the winners had no hesitation.
“The one thing we really want to do is all get together and go on a really big holiday,” the winning man continued.
“We need to let the news sink in before we make any other plans.
“It’s certainly a nice feeling!”
The winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Kilmore Authorised Newsagency, 74A Sydney Street, Kilmore.
Kilmore Authorised Newsagency team member Mary Nagothu said the outlet was celebrating making another one of their customers a division one winner.
“We are very happy!” she laughed.
“Congratulations to our winners. We wish you all the very best and hope you can all enjoy being division one winners.
“We have sold several division one wins in the past and we can’t wait to sell another.
“Recently, we moved into a new location, and we are already feeling so lucky with wins! We are hoping to sell more big wins to our customers soon.”
