A Mitchelton woman has had an unforgettable start to the week with this afternoon’s stunning revelation she was one of the weekend’s Gold Lotto division one winners.

The south-east Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4209, drawn Saturday 20 November 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $831,613.44.

Sharing her shock with us this afternoon, the Brisbane resident explained she’d only just checked her entry at her local newsagency.

“Wow,” she managed eventually.

“I don’t know what to say. My heart is beating so fast. It’s hard to describe how I feel.

“I was just in the newsagency and I thought I’d better check my ticket.

“I didn’t believe it when they told me I was the winner from the weekend.

“It’s still a little bit hard to believe.

“I am so happy. I can’t believe it. I really can’t.

“It is just amazing!”

While still coming to terms with her lottery windfall, the winning Queenslander said she already had some initial ideas.

“Gosh, I will have to have a think,” she laughed.

“It will probably go towards a house I would say.

“Wow! It will be incredible.”

Her life-changing entry was purchased at Nextra Brook News, Shop 90, Brookside Shopping Centre, 159 Osborne Road, Mitchelton.

Nextra Brook News owner Stephen Bird said the win was fantastic news for the outlet.

“We are so happy for our customer and so glad to see this prize go to a regular,” he said.

“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was in April last year, so we are thrilled to do it again.

“Congratulations to them!”
