A Darlinghurst man says he’ll now be able to realise a life-long dream of owning his very own home after winning division one in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto Superdraw.

The inner-city Sydney resident held one of the 10 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto’s $20 Million Superdraw, draw 4071 on 25 July 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $2 million.

Confirming the life-changing news with us this morning, the man said he was still celebrating his win.

“Thank you so much,” he laughed.

“It’s very exciting! I’m celebrating with family and friends.

“I checked my ticket on Saturday night. It was the best night of my life!

“I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. I stayed up all night celebrating.

“I am so very happy.

“This changes everything! It is very, very exciting.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his multi-million-dollar prize, the Sydney winner said he was suddenly set for the rest of his life.

“I’m going to invest in property,” he explained.

“I never thought I would ever be able to own my own home, but this obviously changes that.

“This will set me up for life! I couldn’t be more grateful.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry at Fire Station Newsagency, 179 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst.

Fire Station Newsagency employee Istekhar Alam said he was thrilled for their local customer.

“It was so exciting to hear we had sold a ticket worth $2 million,” he said.

“We’ve sold plenty of division one winning entries over the years and there’s always a buzz when someone wins big.

“Congratulations to our latest winner. We wish them all the best with their prize.”
