An O’Sullivan Beach retiree is thanking his decade-old numbers for scoring him a division one prize worth $2 million in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.

The happy winner held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4071, drawn Saturday 25 July 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize of $2 million.

Sharing his excitement with us this morning, the happy winner recounted the moment he discovered the win.

“I couldn’t believe it when I checked my numbers and saw I had won,” he revealed.

“I have been playing the same numbers for over twelve years, so when I checked them in the paper on Sunday morning, I recognised them immediately.

“I thought to myself ‘there it is!’. This prize is a lot more than I ever thought I would win.

“I called my brother and got him to check the numbers too. I think I’m still in shock!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, the grateful winner said it would go a long way to helping him look after his future.

“I’ve got a few expenses I need to pay off so it will be good to get rid of those!” he declared.

“I will also chat with my financial advisor to see how I can make the windfall work for me in my retirement.

“I’m going to use some of it to look after my health as well. Once those things are sorted, and the borders open, I’m going to go overseas to visit my family.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen them, and this will give me the freedom to do it.”

The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry at O’Sullivan Beach LPO and Newsagency, Shop 3, 105 Galloway Road, O’Sullivan Beach.

O’Sullivan Beach LPO and Newsagency owner Jinny Oh said she was so excited when she heard that the winning ticket was sold at her outlet.

“We’ll be celebrating this news with our customers all week!” she exclaimed.

“They are going to be as excited as we are!

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold in over two years so we are thrilled!

“Congratulations to our winner! We wish him the best of luck and a happy life ahead.

“We hope there will be more big wins for our customers in the future!”
