A Loganlea woman believes “good karma” is to be thanked for her $25,000 top prize win on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she received as a thank you gift after an act of kindness.

The winning $2 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Walker St News, 70 Walker Street, Maryborough.

Confirming her top prize with us this morning, the woman explained how she came to hold the winning ticket.

“It’s crazy!” she laughed.

“And very unexpected. It’s huge for us and it has come at a really great time.

“A friend of mine gave me the scratchie as a thank you gift.

“When I scratched it I couldn’t believe that I’d won! Initially I thought it was $2,500 not $25,000.

“I had to take it into the newsagency to double check because I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but it turned out I wasn’t seeing things and had in fact won $25,000!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the woman revealed it wouldn’t just be her family who would benefit.

“I’m going to halve the prize with my friend who bought the ticket for me,” she explained.

“It will certainly help both families.

“We will probably pay a couple of bills and take some time off work.

“I’ll be able to do all the Christmas shopping. It will definitely make things a lot easier.

“It feels like it’s meant to be!”

Walker St News owner Tracy Robinson said she was excited the outlet had sold its first top prize winning entry.

“We’re new owners here and this is the first top prize winning ticket we’ve sold which is great news,” she said.

“It’s a beautiful story and sounds like it’s gone to such a deserving winner.

“We hope this is the first of plenty of big wins for our customers!”
