A Mudgeeraba woman has admitted that a recent misjudgement had brought her dangerously close to throwing out an Instant Scratch-Its ticket worth a life-enhancing $50,000.

The $4 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Mudgeeraba Newsagency, Shop 23, Mudgeeraba Markets, 3 Swan Lane, Mudgeeraba.

The Gold Coast resident relayed her heart had skipped a beat when she discovered the Instant Scratch-Its ticket she originally assumed was a 'dud' was instead a golden treasure.

“I’m so happy,” she laughed when speaking with us.

“Funnily enough, I nearly threw the ticket out – I’m so glad I didn’t!

“I had scratched the ticket, and I did a final look to see if I had won anything.

“I didn’t think I had won anything on it because initially, I thought the numbers didn’t match up.

“I was very, very close to throwing it out!

“I went into shock.

“The ticket stayed in a safe space until I claimed it at The Lott head office.

“It’s so surreal.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her $50,000 instant windfall, the Queenslander shared she was still overcome by a whirlwind of emotions to make any concrete plans.

“Honestly, I’m still shocked by the news, so I haven’t had a great think,” she explained.

“I think I’ll let it stay in the bank until I’ve decided what to do.”

Mudgeeraba Newsagency supervisor Tina Fullerton said she was overjoyed to hear her outlet had sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a local customer.

“That’s awesome news! We’re so happy to have sold a top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket worth $50,000,” she shared.

“We’re sure our top prize winner is also over the moon to have discovered they scored $50,000. We can’t imagine what the winner had felt or thought when they scratched the top prize.

“Congratulations to the local woman and we wish her all the best with her prize. Thank you for supporting Mudgeeraba Newsagency! Enjoy the win!”
