A Warilla woman is heading into the weekend rejoicing after scratching a top prize of $100,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she purchased as a weekly ritual.

The $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Warilla Grove Newsagency¸ Shop 9B, Warilla Grove Shopping Centre, 43-57 Shellharbour Road, Warilla.

“I was in complete shock!” the winning woman relayed when we reached out to confirm the win.

“I think I checked the ticket about a hundred times.

“It’s a little weekly ritual that I like to do. I enjoy the $5 Instant Scratch-Its tickets and scratch them for a bit of fun.

“I knew I initially had seven words on the Crosswords ticket and then I kept counting them one by one – I just kept saying ‘oh another one, another one!’

“I never expected to win the top prize of $100,000. I also didn’t get too excited because I wanted to confirm that the win was correct.

“We eventually went out as a family to celebrate over lunch. It was really lovely.”

The Shellharbour woman shared the prize would go towards further family celebrations and milestones.

“I’ll put the prize towards the family as they’re most important to me,” she shared.

“We have some family events coming up and it will be a huge help.”

Warilla Grove Newsagency team member Charlotte Spencer said her mum was the one who sold the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to the local woman.

“It’s fantastic news! I wasn’t the one who sold the top prize Instant Scratch-Its ticket, but my mum certainly did, and she was very surprised and happy for the winner,” she said.

“It’s always nice to see a regular who continues to support our newsagency win big. Our customers always hope they could take home a top prize when they sell a ticket.

“We sold a division one winning ticket in Monday & Wednesday Lotto earlier this year, so it’s nice to see the winning streak continue. Warilla Grove Newsagency has done quite well this year!

“Congratulations to the winning woman and we wish her family all the best with the life-enhancing prize - thank you for supporting us!”
