The key to a new home: $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its win brings Logan woman and daughter together
A Logan woman has declared her $100,000 top prize Instant Scratch-Its win has ‘come at the most perfect time for a change of scenery’ for her and her daughter as they plan to buy a home together.
The top prize winning $5 Crosswords Christmas was purchased at Spar Express Marsden, Shop 7-9, Macarthy Road and Third Avenue, Marsden.
“One word to describe it – surreal!” she laughed when we confirmed her instant windfall.
“I checked the letters multiple times to see if I had all of them.
“I wasn’t sure if I had correctly counted all the letters. I kept thinking to myself, ‘Do I have nine or 10 letters? Is this for real?’.
“I went into the local newsagency and the team member said I had to go into the city because they couldn’t pay out the prize there. That’s when I knew it was the big one!
“At this point, I still didn’t know if I had won $10,000 or $100,000.
“It was certainly a surprise when I went into the head office, and they told me I’d won $100,000!
“Instant Scratch-Its Crosswords are my favourite. I’ve been purchasing them for years!
“Thank you so much!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her bounty, the Queenslander said she will look at purchasing a brand-new home with her daughter.
“I think it’s time for a change – time to buy a new house with my daughter!” she shared.
“It will be good to be closer to her too. It’s come at the perfect time.”
Spar Express Marsden owner Malek Al Shoomary said he was excited have sold another major lottery prize for the year.
“It truly feels like we’ve won ourselves when we sell these winning entries to our local customers,” he said.
“In February, we sold a division one winning entry worth $1.9 million to a Jimboomba father, and now we’ve sold a $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a local woman right before Christmas!
“Congratulations to the winning woman, and thank you for supporting our store. We hope you can fulfil your dreams and wishes with this instant windfall.”
