A Newton man is looking forward to achieving the great Australian dream of home ownership after winning $50,000 in a recent Keno draw. The winner scored the $50,000 Keno Spot 8 prize in draw 396, drawn Thursday 29 July 2021.

Speaking with us, the South Australian man said he felt like he was walking on air thanks to his major win.

“I had just put on a ticket and was about to leave the store when I had a feeling I should stay and watch it,” the ecstatic winner explained.

“And that’s when it came up and boom! That’s when I realised I’d won the Spot 8 prize.

“I was very happy, but I had to keep quiet because I didn’t want anyone to know.

“I’ve been playing for years and years and I’ve never had a win like this.

“It’s an absolute dream come true.

“I haven’t told my family yet. But I am going to make a nice dinner at home for them and break the news tonight.

"And then we can do all that normal celebratory stuff.

“It’s just the best news!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the Adelaide man said a long-held dream of his would now come true.

“We have a big family and we’ve always rented,” the jubilant man shared.

“This means we finally have a deposit so we can actually buy our own home and one that’s big enough for the kids. It seems pointless paying off someone else’s mortgage, so it’s exciting!

“It’ll be our dream family home. That’s the most important thing.”

The winning entry was purchased at Gardens Newton Newsagency, Shop 13 / Target Newton Shopping Centre, Corner Newton & Gorge Roads, Newton.

Gardens Newton Newsagency manager Skip said the entire team sent their very best wishes to the happy winner.

“How exciting for him,” she explained.

“We are just absolutely over the moon for our winner and hope he does something special with his prize.

“It’s amazing to deliver a major win to a customer and we can’t wait to do it again.

“Our customers are going to be so excited by the news. It always creates such a buzz and we can imagine all of our customers are hoping they’re the next one to win the big one.”
