A 14-person private syndicate of Goolwa work mates have spent their Monday morning busily discussing their plans after scoring a division one win in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.

The private syndicate held one of the 12 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 3965, drawn Saturday 20 July 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $359,682.38.

The latest division one win continues Goolwa’s reputation as a South Australian lottery hotspot as it is the third win to land in the postcode in just over 12 months.

Sharing her joy with us this morning when confirming the win, the syndicate leader couldn’t contain her excitement.

“Oh my god! Are you joking?!” she questioned excitedly.

“Can you say that again? Three-hundred and fifity-nine thousand!

“This is a syndicate of a few of us here at work. There are 14 of us in total.

“We’ve been working hard recently so it will just be great to be able to tell the team we’ve won.

“Everyone will be so stoked!

“We’ll just want to pop the champagne and celebrate but we’ve got too much work to do!”

When asked how the syndicate leader planned to enjoy her share of the windfall she revealed it would be put to good use.

“I’ll certainly be doing something to celebrate!” she exclaimed.

“We’ll put the rest in the bank and use it to do some renovations on our house.

“We’ll also give some to charity.

“I know that there are a few people in the team who will be able to put their win to good use too!”

The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 18-game marked entry at Goolwa Newsagency, Shop 1, 22 Cadell Street, Goolwa. Goolwa Newsagency owner Lloyd Bilney said he was thrilled Goolwa had lived up to its reputation as a winning postcode.

“Only this week it was announced that 5214 was a winning postcode and it turns out they were right!” he exclaimed.

“We’ve put balloons up and our enthusiastic staff will be telling everyone about the win.

“Our customers will be very happy to hear we’ve sold a winning entry.

“We are thrilled that we played a small part in what we hope will be a life-changing moment for everyone in the syndicate. We wish them all a happy and enjoyable future.

“We always wish all of our customers ‘good luck’ and we hope our lucky streak continues!”
