Since 1921, The Lott by Golden Casket has been a proud supporter of the Mater Hospital and the life changing research they do for the tiniest of humans their mothers, and families.

This year, we’re proud to be presenting partners for the Channel Nine Telethon in support of Mater Little Miracles.

To kick start the Telethon fundraising goal of $6 million, The Lott by Golden Casket is donating $600,000 to go toward life-saving research, care services, and equipment, ensuring all babies at Mater have the best possible start to life.

This donation will also support research staff who are investigating treatment options to protect infants from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), which Gold Coast twins Adeline and Audrey developed after being born 15 weeks prematurely.

Their story and the current trial they’re participating in is one of many being shared throughout the Telethon.

Mater Foundation Executive Director Andrew Thomas said this year’s donation from The Lott by Golden Casket would ensure Mater continues to provide world-leading care for Queensland’s most vulnerable babies.

“Every dollar donated to the Nine Telethon makes a difference to the babies and families we care for at Mater, so we are incredibly grateful to receive this contribution from The Lott,” Mr Thomas said.

“This support will enable us to invest in life-saving equipment and support world-leading research at Mater – research that ultimately benefits babies across Australia and the globe.”

Today, Saturday April 6, the Telethon will share some further incredible stories of kid and their families, and shine a light on the industry leading care that Mater provides.

This care and services Mater provide is made possible through the kindness and support of our community. You can get involved and learn more about the Nine Telethon at 9telethon.com.au

Update: Over $6.8 million raised, for Mater Little Miracles

On Saturday night, the Channel Nine Telethon in support of Mater Little Miracles raised a remarkable total of $6.7 million!

As proud presenting partners, The Lott by Golden Casket kicked off the telethon with a donation of $600,000 alongside our very own team member, whose baby girl Charlotte was born 15 weeks prematurely. Charlotte’s tiny size led to her being given the nickname, Mango Miracle. After 90 days at Mater, they are now 10 months on and baby Charlotte and mum Julia are doing great and were proud to be part of giving back to Mater.

The generous total raised allows Mater to continue to provide access to life-saving care for the sickest and tiniest of humans and ensure their families continue to receive ongoing support.

“What an extraordinary evening! Thanks to the Nine Telethon, the incredible sum of $6,791,588 ensures that more medical miracles are now within reach," said Mater Foundation CEO, Andrew Thomas.

“These funds are truly life-changing for sick and premature babies. The generosity from the community allows us to purchase the latest technology and equipment and invest in world-class research to improve the survival rates and long term outcomes for our tiniest patients. We want babies to survive; however, we also want them to thrive and live a full life without any physical or intellectual disability.

“Each dollar raised not only brings hope to countless Queensland families but also lays a solid foundation for a brighter, healthier future. On behalf of our amazing clinicians and our brilliant researchers, I express our sincere gratitude to the Nine Telethon for standing with us on this journey to support Queensland families for years to come.”
