Gladstone woman takes out $20 million Powerball prize

A Gladstone woman who scored $20 million in last night’s Powerball draw has confessed she almost didn’t put on her ticket of favourite numbers because she hadn’t won anything lately.

“I’ve been putting them in each week, but recently thought I might completely get rid of it,” she said.

“But then I thought, ‘I think I’ll keep it for another week. I might be lucky!’.

“I still can’t believe it. I think I’m in fairyland.”

The Gladstone woman initially thought she’d won $20,000 until her family confirmed her winning ticket was the $20 million division one jackpot.

“I would have been happy with the $20,000 I thought it was!”
