An East Maitland woman has laughed with delight after realising what she thought was a prank call was in fact life-changing news she had won $100,000 in the latest Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The joyful winner took home the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10265, drawn Wednesday 9 January 2019.

When we called the winner to break the news, she was in utter disbelief.

“You must be joking?” she questioned.

“I never win anything!

“I get excited when I win $13!

“This is a bit better than that!”

The player admitted she initially thought the phone call was a scam.

“We just get so many prank calls, I really didn’t know if you were serious or not!” she laughed.

“But I’m so glad I decided to answer the phone!

“This is just so great.

“Thank you very much!”

The woman said despite playing lotteries for decades, she had never dreamt of what she would do with her prize if she ever won big.

“I really don’t know,” she said.

“It’s too big of a shock all at once!

“My husband has been thinking of retiring, so this will go down very well!

“And I’ve always dreamt of going to Broome, maybe we will finally do that!

“That would be very nice.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of four random numbers at Greenhills Newsagency, Shop 39, Stockland Shopping Centre Greenhills, East Maitland.

Greenhills Newsagency owner Brenda Kavanagh said the team was ecstatic to have sold another 1st Prize winning entry.

“We’ve sold a lot of major prize winning entries over the years and you never lose the excitement,” she said.

“We wish our winner all the very best!”
