Four Sunshine Coast siblings are today thanking a long-held family tradition for delivering them a $2.5 million Saturday Gold Lotto win.

The south-east Queenslanders held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4139, drawn Saturday 20 March 2021. They take home a division one prize of $2,500,000.

Confirming their life-changing win with us this morning, one of the winning sisters explained how her, her brothers and her sister chose the winning numbers.

“It’s very exciting,” she laughed.

“Thank you so much!

“I’m still shaking. I honestly can’t believe it.

“There’s four of us who went in on this ticket, my brothers and my sister.

“They were our mum’s numbers that she played for 40 years and ever since she passed away, we’ve been playing them as a little family syndicate.

“My sister-in-law called me on Saturday night, she’d just watched the draw. I couldn’t even understand what she was trying to tell me because she was in such a state!
“The she finally managed to say that we’d won division one!

“Mum was looking down on us on Saturday night, I have no doubt about it.

“It was great. Absolutely wonderful.

“We still can’t believe it. It’s just so amazing!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their lottery fortune, the syndicate leader explained they were still making plans.

“We aren’t all completely sure just yet,” she said.

“We all have children who we will be able to help out.

“And we all have a few bills to pay.

“As soon as we can, we are having a huge party to celebrate.

“It’s amazing!”

The family, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their life-changing marked System 7 entry at Cignall Sippy Downs, Shop A4, 123 Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs.

Cignall Sippy Downs store manager Lauren Geeves said the win was the talk of the town.

“I was so excited when I read that we’d sold a division one winning entry. I didn’t believe it at first!” she said.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold, so everyone is very happy.

“It’s going to be an extraordinary week, with lots of laughter, smiles and celebrations.

“Everyone is so excited about the winner and thrilled for the local family.

“We wish them all the best with their prize, what an amazing, life-changing event!”
