A Cohuna man will have a Father’s Day to remember for eternity after unwrapping a life changing TattsLotto ticket from his wife worth $2.5 million.

The northern Victorian held one of the eight division one winning entries in TattsLotto, draw 4395, drawn Saturday 2 September 2023 and pocketed a total prize of $2,500,000.00.

When we called to confirm the win, the wife of the doting dad relayed how the winning discovery came about and described it as one to remember.

“Thank you so much. It’s crazy!” the winning woman exclaimed.

“We’ve never won anything!

“I heard Cohuna Papers Plus had sold a division one winning ticket and I had to check the ticket immediately. I thought, ‘what are the chances?!’

“I scanned the ticket on The Lott app, and it came up that we had won a significant prize, $2.5 million to be exact. I just started to cry.

“I had to wait until my husband came home from work to give him the gift.
“You should’ve seen his face when I gave it to him. He just couldn’t believe it.

“We had to wait until our children came over for dinner to tell them the news. My husband already had a tear in his eye before he could let them know.

“We said to them, ‘Listen, we’ve got something to tell you. You have to listen to us for a minute.’

“They immediately thought something was wrong – that their dad was unwell or something serious.

“There were a lot of tears. We all started to profusely cry.

“We’re not keeping all of the prize. We’re definitely going to divide it amongst all of us.

“We’re going to share the love!”

The division one winning entry was purchased at Cohuna Papers Plus, 57 King George Street, Cohuna.

Cohuna Papers Plus owner Bernice Mackenzie said the division one winning entry had created a tremendous buzz in the town with many locals wishing they were the winner.

“It’s very exciting for our newsagency and the local Cohuna community. We always love selling winning tickets and even better when its division one because it creates such a buzz,” she said.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold at our outlet, and we couldn’t be happier for our winner.

“We had many customers come in to check their tickets wondering if they were the mystery winner as the ticket was unregistered for more than two days.

“We would like to congratulate our winner and wish them all the best with their life-changing win. It’s a great prize and we know it will go a long way for their family.”
