A group of five Brisbane friends have thousands of reasons to smile this morning after their long-running private syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The Queensland entry was one of the four division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3955, drawn Saturday 15 June 2019.

Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $942,419.40 and each member of the private syndicate will receive a share worth $188,483.88.

Confirming their win with us this morning, the syndicate leader explained how good it felt to start the week as a division one winner.

“We knew we’d won on Sunday morning when one of the syndicate members checked the ticket and rang everyone to break the news!” she recalled.

“It was such a great surprise! The best phone call!

“It feels absolutely wonderful!”

The winner revealed the group had always dared to dream of this life-changing moment.

“Just like the ad, we’d always said ‘wouldn’t it be nice’!” she explained.

“We always really hoped that something like this would happen to us!

“We all love to travel so we will certainly be doing a lot more of that and pay a few bills.

“We all still work and we probably won’t be retiring but it’s certainly going to make things a whole lot easier.

“Our group cannot wait to celebrate!

“It feels so good to know how much this is going to help each of us!”

The group members, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Deception Bay News, Shop 5, Deception Bay Shopping Centre, Cnr Bay Avenue & Deception Bay Road, Deception Bay.

Deception Bay News manager Bianca Ayres said she was over the moon when she discovered another one of their customers had won division one.

“It’s the best feeling knowing that we’ve made someone’s dreams come true!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve had a lot of very lucky winners lately. We sold a division one winning entry in Oz Lotto in November last year.

“Congratulations to our winner! We hope that this win makes all their dreams come true!”
