An Ipswich man in his 30s is on track for the title of “Son of the Year” after declaring he’ll use some of his Saturday Gold Lotto windfall to buy his mum a new house.

The Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4159, drawn Saturday 29 May 2021.  Each division one winning entry scored $852,722.91.

Speaking with us this morning, the stunned man couldn’t contain his excitement at becoming debt-free.

“This is just so much relief,” he exclaimed.

“This is just going to help so much. It’s life-changing I tell you.

“I saw an email from The Lott last night and I couldn’t believe it. But I got onto the app and saw it. I couldn’t sleep after that!

“I’m going to help my mum – going to go and buy her a house, so she doesn’t have to pay rent anymore.

“I’ll get a house as well. I’ll be able to set us all up.”

The Queensland division one winner shared he’d only just begun playing Saturday Gold Lotto.

“I never used to play. It was only about six weeks ago that I thought, ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’, but I never really thought I’d be a division one winner. But now it’s happened! To be debt-free is amazing.”

The winning 36-game QuickPick was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
