The search for Tuesday’s Oz Lotto division one winner is over, with a North Sydney woman coming forward late this morning to claim the $50 million prize she won on the first lottery ticket she ever bought.

The Sydney resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1377, drawn Tuesday 7 July 2020. She takes home the entire division one prize of $50 million.

Sharing her shock with us this morning, the overwhelmed woman explained she’d just checked her Oz Lotto ticket online.

"Holy sh*t!" she said eventually.

“Sh*t. Okay. Thank you so much.

“Jesus Christ. Oh my god. I cannot believe it.

“We’ve been on holidays in Sussex Inlet and my friend called me just before and said to me ‘I think the newsagency you bought your Oz Lotto ticket from sold the $50 million winning entry’.

“So I jumped online and checked my ticket.

“I can’t believe it. I’m shaking. Jesus Christ. This is incredible!

“Oh my god. I’m shocked, so shocked.

“My heart is beating so hard, I’m pacing around.

“I feel like I could have a heart attack!”

The woman went on to thank “beginner’s luck” for her life-changing $50 million windfall.

“You won’t believe this. This is the first lottery ticket I’ve ever bought in my life,” she explained.

“I’ve never played Oz Lotto before. I walked past the newsagency and thought it would be a bit of fun to enter, so I did!”

When asked how she imagined life as a multi-millionaire, she said she was struggling to come to terms with the news and would need to take some time to decide how she will enjoy her prize.

“I have no idea right now,” she laughed.

“Honestly, I cannot think straight.

“I’m still just so shocked. I think I will be so shocked for a long time.

“I’ll definitely keep working, but oh my goodness, I just don’t know!”

The multi-million-dollar winning entry was purchased at Inlet Newsagency, Shop 5, 172 Jacobs Drive, Sussex Inlet.

Inlet Newsagency owner Dimitrios Spyrakis said the town had been buzzing with the exciting news.

“We’re so happy to hear the winner has now been united with her prize,” he said.

“It’s all everyone is talking about here! It’s fantastic news for our community.

“It’s incredible to know we’ve played a part in changing this woman’s life.

“Congratulations to her! We hope she continues to holiday at Sussex Inlet.”
