In case you missed it: Canberra collects Lotto wins while SA syndicate enjoys Christmas surprise
With more than 385 division one wins across The Lott’s jurisdictions, 2023 has been huge for Aussie lottery players. And while the year winds down, the lottery wins only seem to be amping up.
Plus, with a huge $90 million Oz Lotto draw and Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw looming, we might be in for an extra climactic finish to 2023!
In the meantime, check out some of our favourite winning moments from the week:
ACT aces weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw
Two Canberrans had a winning weekend, each scoring almost $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw. The first was an online player who couldn’t think of a better early Christmas present than winning a division one prize worth $982,100.
“It’s funny. I had two tickets… one of them won a smaller prize and I was stoked. And then I checked this one and I thought, ‘Holy sh**! That can’t be right!’,” he said.
“I was fully spun out!”
The second Canberran winner was a woman from Wanniassa who admitted she didn’t get a wink of sleep after discovering her division one win.
“I check my numbers every Saturday night. I don’t go to bed until I check my ticket,” she said.
“I think I sat there and cried.
“I’ve already thought about what I’ll do with the prize. It’s not just mine… I’m going to donate to charity, help the kids and family, and treat myself along the way.”
Kilburn X Lotto players celebrate Christmas miracle
Further south, four members of an Adelaide syndicate also saw division one success in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The group’s marked System 8 entry also scored division three 12 times, division four 15 times, division five six times, and division six 14 times, bolstering their total division one prize to $993,514.28. Each syndicate member receives a share worth $248,378.58.
The winning syndicate was established by Kilburn North Licensed Post Office & Newsagency, Churchill Centre, Shop 21/380-408 Churchill Road, Kilburn and some members are still yet to check their ticket to discover their prize. If you had a X Lotto entry in the draw, be sure to check your tickets!
Bunyip pensioner left shaking like a leaf
While we’re still waiting for some winners to discover their prize, we were thrilled to break the news to a Victorian man that he’d won a $200,000 Lucky Lotteries prize.
“Are you serious? Are you really serious?!” he questioned.
“Unreal. Just unreal. You have no idea how much this means to me and how much this is going to help.
“I’m just a pensioner and things have been pretty tough lately, so this is just incredible.
“I’m on the way to see a friend now. Gosh, I won’t be able to sit still.”
Rockhampton woman’s generosity rewarded with $100,000 top prize
‘Tis the season for giving, and sometimes gifts give back! One Rockhampton woman experienced a serendipitous twist of fate after her generosity in gifting Instant Scratch-Its tickets turned into a $100,000 bonanza.
“With Christmas coming up, I bought a bunch of tickets to give to various friends and colleagues, but after getting all the presents organised, I had a couple left over.
“I thought to myself, ‘Now I really want to play one’.
“Later on, my partner saw it and said, ‘I think you’ve won’ but I brushed him off and that’s when he said ‘No, I really think you’ve won!’ and he was getting all amped up and excited.
“It’s just bizarre and wonderful!
“And it’s come at a perfect time. Christmas can be so jam-packed and it’s hard to relax, but now I feel like I can just breathe!”
From all of us here at The Lott, we wish you a safe and happy Christmas, and hope we might hear of your festive win soon.
