From the Northern Territory to the steps of the Sydney Opera House, our last three months have been truly historic here at The Lott.

On 25 November in 1957, a winding queue of Australians lined up to purchase their ticket into the first Sydney Opera House Lottery, by NSW Lotteries. This lottery largely helped fund the historic landmark, and in its 50th year celebrations, The Lott by NSW Lotteries couldn’t be prouder to partner with the Sydney Opera House once again to highlight our shared connection and create new ways to experience this cultural icon.

The Lott by NSW Lotteries Managing Director and CEO Sue van der Merwe said she hoped the partnership would provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the shared rich history of the two organisations.

“As the official home of Australia’s lotteries, we thought it only fitting that we should continue our support of Australia’s iconic House as it embarks on its sixth successful decade,” she said.

July also saw us provide The Stars Foundation with a donation of $100,000 thanks to the Lott by Tatts NT for our third year in a row. These funds will help the Stars Foundation and their mission to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women to set their sights on a bright future.

A $50,000 donation to Variety SA helped ignite positive change and assist Aussie kids in need. Whether it’s providing mobility equipment and wheelchairs, communication and education aides, medical and therapy services, scholarships, or community events, Variety SA believes all kids deserve a fair go. The Lott’s donation will help them continue their mission.

We then were able to welcome a new community partner into The Lott family thanks to Tatts NT, with a $90,000 donation to support Orange Sky and their Darwin van to reach more communities.

Orange Sky is the world’s first free mobile laundry and shower service and is a powerful driver for community connection and non-judgmental conversation, providing a safe space for people who often feel isolated and disconnected from their community.

Supporting the community is at the heart of The Lott, and what a quarter it was. We can’t wait to share with you what’s next.

Stay tuned!
