The sky’s the limit for the next generation of bright young Indigenous women who make up the latest cohort in the Stars Foundation programs.

With tailored programs, mentor support, and opportunities to learn and grow in a culturally safe and trusting environment, Stars Foundation is on a mission to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women to set their sights on a bright future.

Since its establishment in 2015, the Foundation has worked to support and enable young women to make active choices towards realising their full potential, which creates better environments for Indigenous communities.

For the third year in a row, we’re proud to donate $100,000 so Stars can continue its work to close the gap on important health and education outcomes.

Stars students have shone with perseverance and success. Over 2,000 girls and young women have participated in the Foundation’s programs with over 90% of senior students completing Year 12 and 93% of graduates successfully transitioning to work or further study. Recently, the Foundation has expanded into three additional schools taking their overall total to 48 partner schools across Australia - 19 of these in the Northern Territory.

The Lott by Tatts Partnership Manager, Liz McPherson, said that The Lott by Tatts continued support played an important role in sustaining such an important program.

“We’re proud to continue to support communities across the Northern Territory through organisations like Stars Foundation,” she said.

“Education is such an important part of creating new opportunities and building strong communities and we’re committed to ensuring more girls and young women have the greatest chance to thrive.”

Stars Foundation Chief Executive Office Andrea Goddard highlighted the contribution from The Lott by Tatts would go a long way in supporting a healthy future for these girls.

“We are very grateful for the support provided by The Lott by Tatts for our Northern Territory programs.” She said.

“The partnership contributes vital funding to help us achieve our important goal of inspiring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women to complete school and reach their full potential.”
