Saturday Lotto stuns five lottery players

Christmas has come early for five lottery players who each woke up to a $2 million windfall on the weekend.  

The Lotto loot landed far and wide across Australia – with three players in Victoria snagging division one and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.  

One winner scored her good fortune by purchasing the wrong ticket, and shared that her last-minute switch never felt so right. 

“I’m shaking! I went into the newsagency to purchase an entry into Powerball, and the team member suggested I play Saturday Gold Lotto. I can’t believe it,” she shared. 

“My husband was laying down, and I ran to him and said, ‘I think I might have this. I really might have won.’ We had to close our blinds so we could let out some screams!” 

Western Australian walks away with $80 million Powerball prize 

One Western Australian player claimed the entire $80 million Powerball jackpot in Thursday night’s draw and shares the title of the nation’s third-biggest individual lottery winner. The life-changing entry was purchased from Lotterywest.  

There was also a total of 2.5 million prizes worth more than $45.14 million won in divisions two to nine so make sure you check your tickets to see if you were a winner!

Among those winners were 14 division two winners, who each take home a prize worth $89,207.70. 

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1333 on Thursday 2 December 2021 were 27, 30, 4, 5, 33, 26 and 19 and the all-important Powerball number was 8.  

Retirement in reach for South Penrith man 

A South Penrith man and his wife are looking forward to handing in their resignation letter earlier than expected after taking home a million-dollar prize in Monday Lotto.

“The news has brought a tear to my eye. I checked the ticket just before while I was having a cup of tea. I’ve been playing the same numbers for 30 or 40 years!” the winning man told us in disbelief. 

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for 30 or 40 years. I can’t remember why I picked the numbers I did, but they are certainly special now.” 

Million-dollar Lotto ticket tucked away for months

Two months after the draw, a Wetherill Park man has only just realized he’s been carrying a Saturday Lotto ticket worth more than $1 million in his wallet.  

“I had no idea I was a millionaire this whole time! It’s crazy. I was going to buy another Lotto ticket and so I went and checked some other tickets I’d bought a few weeks back,” he laughed. 

“When the staff member scanned the ticket and told me they thought I’d won division one, I kept saying, ‘What? Why are you saying this to me? Are you sure?’. I went quiet after that.” 

The overjoyed man immediately knew the prize would go towards a new house, an overseas holiday and future savings.
