What a blockbuster week! With a $20 million Oz Lotto jackpot, and the $60 million Powerball jackpot both going off, Australia now has two freshly minted multi-millionaires who’ll be celebrating into the weekend — as will we!

Get the wrap on their winning reactions, plus some of our other favorite moments from the week that was.

Inner-city Sydney woman in her 20s answers phone to $60 million Powerball payday

As soon as we saw there was a division one winning entry in Thursday night’s massive $60 million Powerball draw, we jumped straight on the phone to try and reach the winner.

It took a few attempts, but finally a young Sydney woman picked up and we could let her know she was now $60 million richer!

“Are you sure about this? Oh my god, this is insane. Thank you!” she said through tears.

“I’ve never thought about what I’d do with $60 million!

“This is very overwhelming. I’m shaking like a leaf!”

The woman immediately thought of her nearest and dearest and plans to use her prize to help out her parents and siblings and take a big family holiday.

“My heart is pounding!” declares Drouin “country girl” after $20 million Oz Lotto win

While our Powerball winner made for a showstopping week, just a few days earlier Oz Lotto put on its own exciting performance with a huge $20 million draw.

One winner scored the entire jackpot prize — a self-confessed ‘country girl’ from Drouin in Victoria. When we called to confirm her prize, the down-to-earth woman was blown away.

“Oh my goodness! Thank you so so much! What can I say? Jeez!,” she exclaimed.

“A few years ago, a family member had a serious accident so I am very much aware of how your life can change in the blink of an eye.

“This is another one of those life-changing moments but definitely a more exciting one. You really don’t know what each day will bring.”

She plans to continue working and celebrate with a pub meal now that restrictions are easing in her hometown.

Chermside man’s sleepless night after million-dollar discovery

Not to be outdone by our jackpotting games, Lotto continued to demonstrate its talent for making millionaires this week and sprung a $1 million Monday Gold Lotto prize on a Chermside man.

“It’s incredible. Honestly, I never thought this would happen. You hope, and you pray, but you never think you will actually win the lottery!” he exclaimed.

“It has been a bit tough year for us, just like it has been for a lot of people. “We will invest the prize for our future retirement.”
