In case you missed it: Oz Lotto on a winning streak and a winning ticket claimed two years later!

While most winners rush to check their lottery or Instant Scratch-Its ticket as soon as possible, one astonished Aussie had been unknowingly sitting on his winning ticket for two years!

Check it out in this week’s winning highlights.

$100,000 Instant Scratch-Its ticket discovered two years later

A Nelson Bay man wrapping Christmas presents for his children has uncovered a two-year-old Instant Scratch-Its ticket worth $100,000, tucked away in an old gift bag in the linen closet.

“We’ve got lots of kids in the family, so for the past few nights, we’ve been wrapping Christmas presents. We’d run out of the good wrapping paper, and so my wife went into the cupboard and dug out old gift bags to use,” he explained.

“This ticket was face down in the bottom of this one gift bag, so we had no idea we even had it until then! The next morning, we were having breakfast and my wife decided she’d scratch it.

“She screamed, ‘Oh my god! No way! We’ve won $100,000! I instantly looked at her and said, ‘No, get off it. That can’t be right!’.”

Sleepless night for Seaford man

A Seaford man who discovered his division one windfall right before bedtime confessed he was too afraid to sleep in case his $2.6 million Oz Lotto prize was a dream.

“I checked my account last night and discovered I’d won. I never usually check it straight after the draw, but I just had this weird feeling,” he laughed.

“I thought I might have won $20. I never in a million years thought I’d win $2 million! When I saw it, I screamed, ‘Oh Jesus!’. I felt like I was dreaming. I was so worried it was just a dream.

With a multi-million dollar win coming his way right before the new year, retirement is on the horizon earlier than expected!

Lighting strikes twice in Shellharbour region

The Shellharbour region had a winning start to the week with two Lucky Lotteries prizes won on the same day!

A pair of Barrack Heights best friends had scored a $200,000 Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot first prize after playing for several years, and a Blackbutt woman landed a $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot windfall.

When we dialled the Blackbutt woman to deliver the life-enhancing news, she revealed her ‘tough year’ had been turned around.

“Is this true? Oh my god! This is a miracle! I’m shaking! I’m anxious! I’ve had such a tough year where a lot of bad things have happened,” she happily cried.
