A Somerton Park man has joked about walking down the aisle after walking away with a $10 million Powerball win in last night’s draw.

The South Australian held the only division one winning entry in last night’s Powerball draw 1401, drawn Thursday 23 March 2023 and pocketed a total division one prize of $10,626,529.30.

The winning entry was not registered to a player card, which meant we had no way of notifying the winner of their life-changing win and had to wait for them to check their ticket.

It’s the second Powerball division one prize to land in South Australia this month.

“I can now finally afford to get married!” the latest Powerball winner joked when we confirmed his newfound fortune.

“It’s a strange feeling. I feel bizarre!

“I looked at my phone last night, and I thought ‘Hang on! That looks different!’.

“I rushed to my computer and looked at the ticket on there instead.

“Occasionally, I’d play some of my favourite numbers on my Powerball tickets, and sometimes I don’t. This time I decided to, and I’m so glad I did.

“I’ve been visiting Kylie Brown’s Newsagency for more than six years now. I’m happy knowing I picked up a division one winning entry from them.

“I’ll probably refurbish a lot of things – no flash holidays or anything like that.

“I’ve got to let it all sink in!”

His winning entry was purchased at Kylie Brown’s Newsagency, Shop 17, Bayside Shopping Village, Cnr Jetty and Brighton Road, Glenelg.

Kylie Brown’s Newsagency owner Kylie Brown said the division one winning entry has created a buzz in the local community.

“We’re stoked to have sold a division one winning entry worth $10 million to a regular customer. It’s an amazing feeling and it’s created such a buzz in the South Australian community,” she said.

“We sold a Spot 9 in Keno only a few weeks ago worth $450,000 which was amazing as well.

“It’s always great when we sell a major lottery prize to a regular customer who has continued to support us for many years.

“Congratulations to the winning man and we wish him all the very best with his prize. We hope it fulfils many dreams and endeavours.”
