An Emerald woman has had the best “shock to the system” today, discovering she won the Set for Life division one prize.

The Melbourne player scored the division one prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years in Set for Life draw 1843, drawn Saturday 22 August 2020.

This morning, we called the winner, who had no idea she’d scored the Set for Life division one prize.

“You are joking?!” she exclaimed.

“Are you kidding me? No, this can’t be real!

“I am bewildered! I need to check this online.

“Oh my god, you’re right! I have won.

“I never thought this would happen! Holy moley!

“It’s a shock to the system.

“With everything going on in the world, it has come at the best time though.

“I just need to let this sink in.

“I think I will have to surprise my husband with the news tonight. I might crack open a bottle of champagne and show him the win online!”

When asked how she planned to relish being Set for Life, the elated woman said she couldn’t wait to enjoy the feeling of security the win would bring.

“It’s so overwhelming, I can barely think what I am going to do with it!” she explained.

“I would love to do some travelling around Australia. There’s so much I want to see.

“I would also love to do more travelling overseas too. Maybe we could do a big trip throughout Asia next.

“There will be lots of travelling every year. I will share some with my family too.

“There’s also some things I would like to do around my home. A few little renovations here and there.

“I will keep working though because I do love my job, but there will be lots of fun things.”

The winning 5-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Emerald Newsagency, 4 Kilvington Drive, Emerald.

Emerald Newsagency owner Carl Mardirian said he couldn’t be happier for his Set for Life division one winner.

“We were thrilled to discover the news on Sunday morning,” he said.

“What a fantastic surprise that some happy person in Emerald is now Set for Life.

“We wish her the very best and hope she enjoys her prize.

“This is the third division one winning entry we have sold this year.

“How lucky are we?

“We look forward to selling more division one winning entries in the future.”
