A Richmond man in his 30s is planning to hand in his resignation letter and travel the world after today discovering he won the First Prize in Set for Life.

The Melbourne player scored the First Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years in Set for Life draw 1668, drawn Saturday 29 February 2020.

When we contacted the man this morning to break the life-changing news, he was initially in disbelief.

“Are you f***ing serious?” he laughed.

“Twenty years of prize payments? Oh my god!

“My heart is racing!

“I had absolutely no idea.

“Gosh I need to take this in. It doesn’t feel real!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the holidaymaker said all he could really think of was travel.

“I don’t really know what I will do,” he admitted.

“It’s so much money! I never thought this would be something I would need to think about.

“I will definitely pay off my mortgage.

“I would love to take a year off work to travel the world as well.

“There are so many places I have wanted to visit for so long, so that would be amazing.

“Most of my prize will be going to travel and setting myself up for the future.”

The winning 5-SET entry was purchased at Victoria Gardens Lotto, Kiosk 3, Victoria Gardens Shopping Centre, 620 Victoria Street, Richmond.

Victoria Gardens Lotto owner Dave Zhu said he couldn’t be happier for his customer.

“I am really excited. When I first found out I couldn’t believe it!” he said.

“How wonderful for our winner! Winning the Set for Life First Prize would truly be life changing.

“We have been sharing the news with all of our customers and they are very happy for us.

“Hopefully we make more of our customers major prize winners.”
